Musikalisch-literarischer Auftakt der Friedenswochen St. Gallen 2020

Walter Frei’s city walk at Peace Weeks St.Gallen
It was bitter cold on Walter Frei’s city walk on December 1st, dedicated to Christoph Schappeler from St.Gallen, a pioneer of human rights. From 1513 to 1525, Schappeler was Pastor in the main church of Memmingen, a town in southern Germany. He was significantly involved in the constitution of the Twelve Articles of Memmingen, which are considered to be one of the first written demands for human and freedom rights in Europe. As so soften after such demands, they ware followed by wars and killings. Today in many countries such rights are still a big wish for many human beings. Let’s hope such will be established peacefully and .More)
